Every Cumbria chef jacket that we manufacture starts off in the exact same way; a roll of fabric, a box of studs, some cotton thread and a little red tab with our name on it. Over the course of around 90 minutes, we transform those materials into something far greater than the sum of its parts; a British made, premium chef jacket. The Cumbria may be our entry level product, but its story is just as important as any other jacket that we make.
The first step in creating the Cumbria jacket is cutting the fabric, at first we make big cuts by hand but we don’t let tradition get in the way of quality. To get the perfect cut and consistent shape that we require, we use a modern laser cutter which. Now that we have the front and back of a jacket, the Cumbria is starting to take shape.
Now comes the skilful part and the part that we feel can only be done right using the very best British textile machinists. We take the front of the jacket and mark where the concealed studs are going to go, then we hand press the studs onto the placket. Next, our machinists take the front and back of the chef jackets, work a little magic and we have an almost complete Cumbria jacket.
So now we have something that you could arguably call a chef jacket, but there are plenty of the finer details missing, not to mention plenty of cotton thread poking out everywhere; quite a messy dish still. So now the Cumbria jacket goes to our finishing department where we snip off thread ends and check the quality (some don’t make the cut so to speak).
The Cumbria is almost complete however, there is the final finishing touch still to take place; the addition of the red Oliver Harvey tab (we don’t put our name on it until it is perfect). After the pen pocket and tab is sewn on the jacket all that is left to do is to wrap it in our branded tissue paper and send it on its way to an eagerly waiting chef.

Once your order is confirmed and you are happy with the sample, we will complete your order. Please expect 10-15 working days for delivery once a logo sample has been approved.

If you add a logo to a product there is a £30 set up cost to pay however, once this is set up, you can reuse this logo on future orders. Each application of a logo costs £3.50 and text costs £2.50 per application. If you choose to have a large logo placed on either the front or back of a product there is an additional £5 cost per location.
All costs are based on embroidery. Call us if you require a different form of personalisation.
Do not bleach this chef jacket. You may dry clean this jacket with any solvent except Trichloroethylene. Machine wash - 65c. Iron carefully on a medium heat setting. Tumble dry on a normal heat setting.
Standard orders are delivered within 3-5 working days.
Personalised orders are delivered within 10 working days (upon sign off of logo if applicable).
Non-standard orders are delivered within 5-10 working days.
Non-standard items include: certain chef shoes (as stated on product pages), t-shirts and polo shirts, shirts and blouses and accessories.
International orders will take an additional 2-5 working days on top of the above depending on destination country.
UK orders above £75 are free. Orders below £75 will cost £5 (ex. VAT).
Ireland orders above £150 are free. Orders below £150 will cost £10 (ex. VAT).
Delivery prices for International orders range from £10-60 depending on location, these prices will be shown at the checkout when you select your destination country.
You may be liable to pay an import tax from your host country, your local government office will be able to provide details.
