The Oxford Chef Jacket is one of our all-time favourite styles that has a perfect balance of style and value for money. This is certainly one of our most expensive styles however, the price reflects the quality of materials and craftsmanship that is required to make such a stunning British designed chef jacket. Like every other jacket we make, our ingredients are always quite simple however, the processes they take in the 4 hour journey to creating this chef jacket, transform them into something quite special.
We design the Oxford to be a traditional shaped and cut chef jacket with a double breasted fastening and timeless appeal. Like everything that we do however, we also ensured that we gave it our distinctive modern touch and updated the use of materials to reflect the most advanced of fabrics that we have access to. The jacket starts with two of these fabrics, a cooltex poly cotton and the excellent coolmax mesh. These are both laser cut to a millimetre perfect shape before being caringly sewn into the rough shape of a chef jacket.
The button placket of the jacket is a time consuming area to get right due to the numerous button holes which must be first cut, and then reinforced with thread, perfectly 24 times! This is a slow process which needs considerable care and skill, but we know that this is what gives our jackets that added touch of quality. Once the button holes are cut, we bag up our plastic buttons and start to prepare the finishing touches for the jacket.
With the final stage approaching, the jacket is now almost complete and it is ready for the process which all of our products go through; finishing. In this area, we quality control every single jacket and also trim any extraneous pieces of thread to leave you with the perfect product every time. We then carefully wrap our jackets in tissue where it will remain until a lucky chef places an order.
