New Product: Be The Designer with Custom Cross Back Aprons

Oliver Harvey have launched their Custom Apron Builder and Cross Back Aprons, the first of their kind in the UK.

Oliver Harvey have launched one of the most innovative products to enter the uniform market: fully customisable cross back aprons.

After years of planning, we are beyond proud to introduce you to our first custom aprons: attire built by you, for you.

We’re really excited by this latest addition to our range of aprons and we genuinely believe that you will love them for their unique style, playful appeal and flexible look.

We realise that there is a big gap in the market for uniform solutions that are 100% flexible and freely customisable. Our custom aprons are designed with this in mind; you select your base apron and ties separately to assemble your own apron using our web app. In essence, you’re the designer of your very own apron - we just supply the materials.

The custom apron web app is incredibly simple to use. All you need to do is select your base apron and your ties and the app will create you apron for you. Preview your selection, then order away!

Upon release, you will be able to choose from three different base apron colours - slate grey, putty and navy - and eight different strap colours - black, pink, maroon, natural, navy, brown, khaki and slate grey. New colours will become available in the not-too-distant future, but the 24 different colour combinations offer plenty of choice for any occasion, situation or location.

But OH, what happens if I want to order straps or a base on their own to add to what I already have? No matter; you can buy bases and straps on an individual basis too.

The selection process for the initial colours available was based on a number of different criteria. Firstly, we wanted to provide a range of colours that work together well. You will find that all 24 different colour combinations look fantastic together, and nothing looks out of place. Secondly, we wanted to make sure you had as many different and novel options available to create a uniform that is truly unique.

While the customisation aspect of the new custom aprons is the most obvious feature, a second innovation in apron and uniform design is on display here. As opposed to a traditional apron, which sees a neck strap separate from the ties at the back, these aprons have two longer, detachable straps which cross over at the back.

This unique design allows for a more fun, playful and less serious apron, perfect for smaller, local establishments and high-end restaurants alike. They are particularly well suited for bar and waiting on uniforms and as far as we are aware, they are the first of their kind on the market in the UK.

The ties are very easy to attach. They clip on via brass stud fastening at the top of the apron. Cross them over at the back, thread them through the eyelets and tie at the back - simple and comfortable.

The aprons themselves are loaded with features which make them great for a variety of situations. The two mitred side pockets provide plenty of space and functionality, while the brass eyelets for the straps look great and are of a perfect size.
