Emma Tissing - The Dutch-Based Chocolatier with an International Twist

We take a closer look at how we helped a British chocolatier create a uniform just in time for the grand opening of their studio in the Netherlands.

Oliver Harvey products have found themselves in some truly wonderful places the world over. We may be proud of our British roots, but we also love seeing our name across the globe and in a variety of different settings.

This week, we’ve found ourselves in the Netherlands where chocolatier Emma Tissing has just opened up her brand new showcase store based in Kattendijke. The grand opening was conducted by local councillor Andre van der Reest and has been over a year in the making.

The chocolate studio is designed to showcase the best of her creations, while also giving customers a place to sit and enjoy the day. Think of it as a chocolate café!

Emma needed a uniform that spoke volumes about her and her store. What she chose allowed her to create a rustic, homemade style which compliments the look of her store brilliantly.

The first aspect is the chef jacket. She chose our “York” Chef Jacket, which is specifically designed to provide a better fit and shape for women than our unisex jackets. We understand that there is no one-style-fits-all chef jacket, so we have a range that caters to everyone regardless of their shape and size.

Secondly, two types of apron were chosen: the Black Bib Apron and the Slate Grey Adjustable Bib Apron.

Each item was embroidered with her logo, which perfectly matches the font and design as seen on the name above her studio.

To get her gear across the channel in time for the grand opening, we had to work hard and really go that extra mile to deliver.

Typically, embroidered clothing can take up to 10 days to prepare, complete and send. However, when a customer is in need, we will always do our best to speed up this process for them.

In what was one of the quickest turnarounds we have ever done, we were able to get everything to her in advance of the grand opening on Saturday.

We’re happy to report that the opening has been a massive success. If you’re well versed in Dutch, check out the video below to find out more.

This is an excellent example of how international people can be. A British lady in the Netherlands producing a variety of fine European chocolates, all while wearing the red label.
