Mental Health in the hospitality industry is a real concern. To reference a 2019 article in The Caterer, 8 out of 10 chefs report having poor mental health during their careers. This problem is not just confined to back of house however, with 1 in 5 hospitality workers suffering from severe mental health issues due to their work environment. This is worsened by the fact that 48% of chefs believe that not enough is being done to improve people’s wellbeing in our industry.
Thankfully, this is starting to change. Pilot Light was founded by chefs Andrew Clarke and Doug Sanham to open up the conversation about people’s mental health within hospitality. Their mission is simple but incredibly challenging. They have scoured our industry to find organisations and businesses who are willing to adopt their principles and that is precisely why we decided to partner with them. We thought that the best way for us to support their campaign was to develop a unique apron, designed to be worn either front or back of house. Before we dive into the features of our latest creation what is most important to note is that for every apron sold, we will donate £5 to Pilot Light to support their vital work across the country.
To the apron itself, we have gone with a more stylistic direction this time focusing on the unique details. Starting off with the key ingredient as always, the fabric. We have a durable, medium weight 100% cotton in navy which will aesthetically settle in nicely to most establishments whilst still performing when needed. We have attached our increasingly popular adjustable leather neck strap made from only the finest and ethically sourced hides. In terms of pockets, we have added a deep hip pocket on the right hand side, perfect for your utensils and a pen pocket on the chest for your Oliver Harvey sharpie. Finally, we have included the Pilot Light label at the base of the apron so you can show everyone you are supporting this vital campaign about opening up the conversation around mental health.

You can now add personalisation to Oliver Harvey products online. Simply follow the steps above to start adding personalisation to your products. Once your order is confirmed and you are happy with the sample, we will complete your order. Please expect 10-15 working days for delivery once a logo sample has been approved.
We will always get in touch to confirm the specifics of your personalisation.
If you add a logo to a product there is a £30 set up cost to pay however, once this is set up, you can reuse this logo on future orders. Each application of a logo costs £3.50 and text costs £2.50 per application. If you choose to have a large logo placed on either the front or back of a product there is an additional £5 cost per location.

Washing Details
Care Guidelines
Remove leather detailing before washing. Do not bleach this apron. You may dry clean this apron with any solvent except Trichloroethylene. Machine wash at 50oc. Iron carefully on a 2 Dot (Warm/150oC) heat setting. Tumble dry on a low heat setting.

UK Delivery Options
We have 4 delivery options for orders to mainland UK;
Economy Delivery - 5 Working Days. Under £25 = £5. Over £25 = FREE.
Express Delivery - Next Working Day. Under £25 = £10. Over £25 = £5. Over £150 = FREE.
Express Delivery 10:30 - Next Working Day before 10.30am. Under £25 = £25. Over £25 = £20. Over £150 = £15.
Saturday Delivery - Saturday Delivery. All orders = £30.
Exceptions
Express Delivery options are only available on items where we have stock for express delivery. This is indicated on product pages and at the checkout with a tick icon.
Personalised orders are delivered within 10 working days (upon sign off of logo if applicable).
Non-standard orders are delivered within 5-10 working days.
Non-standard items include: certain chef shoes (as stated on product pages), t-shirts and polo shirts, shirts and blouses and accessories.
International Delivery Options
International and Non-UK Mainland orders will take an additional 2-5 working days on top of the above depending on destination country.
Ireland orders above £150 are free. Orders below £150 will cost £10 (ex. VAT).
Delivery prices for International orders range from £10-60 depending on location, these prices will be shown at the checkout when you select your destination country.
You may be liable to pay an import tax from your host country, your local government office will be able to provide details.
